• Provide early warning signals for the presence of any deficiency or phenomenon that may transform to future problem.

       Objectives :        

• Monitors the actual urban status of Jeddah province, produces its indicators and determines the city's primary development affairs such as poverty and pollution.
• Provides scientific methodology for collecting and presenting indicators and insure its validity and representation of the actual status.
• Produces its indicators and determines the city's primary urban development highlights through approved scientific methodology for collecting and presenting urban indicators.
• Also to ensure their validity in representing of the actual status.
• Feeds decision makers with urban development indicators.
• Cooperates with the National, Local and International Urban Observatories in exchange of information and experience.
• Assists officials in clarifying the social, economical, structural and environmental activities in the city and helps them in prepare effective plans for the urbanization process.
• Assess the performance of the prevailing development initiatives and monitor the status of the change in the constructional, social, economical and environmental conditions.
• Provide the higher authorities with fair and unbiased method to evaluate and measure the ongoing urban development.
